2018 – Founded by Me, For People.
In December 2018, I founded Take Back Your Mind UK, driven by a deep passion for mental health advocacy. I recognised the need for change in how society addresses the stigma surrounding mental health & illness, and set out to raise awareness and develop a service and resources designed to Create Healthier Minds.
Since the age of 17, I have worked tirelessly to build TBYM into what it is today. It has been an incredible journey—one filled with challenges, growth, and an unwavering commitment to making a real difference.
Now, after more than six years of leading the organisation, the time has come for a new Chief Executive to take the helm and continue TBYM’s mission. I officially stepped down in May 2024, but due to the immense workload involved in preparing, developing, and launching our Messaging Support Service—which went live on 31st January 2025—I haven’t been able to advertise the role until now.
I am currently reviewing applications and will soon hand them over to the Board of Members for shortlisting. Volunteers will be notified when voting opens to select the candidate they believe is best suited to lead TBYM into its next chapter.
This isn’t goodbye—I’m not going anywhere. I will remain on the board of directors, actively recruiting new directors to strengthen our leadership and drive TBYM forward. The organisation has always been about collective effort, and with the right people in place, I know its impact will continue to grow.
Thank you to everyone who has supported this journey so far. The future of TBYM is bright, and I’m excited to see where it goes next.
