Volunteer Code of Conduct Policy


Statement


This Volunteer Code of Conduct Policy outlines the expectations and standards of behaviour that all volunteers must adhere to while representing TBYMUK. Volunteers play a vital role in our mission, and this policy aims to ensure a respectful, inclusive, and professional environment for everyone involved.


Policy Objectives

This policy is designed to achieve the following objectives:

1. Promote a Positive Environment: Foster a culture of respect, collaboration, and inclusivity among volunteers.

2. Ensure Professionalism: Maintain a high standard of professionalism in interactions and activities related to TBYMUK.

3. Safeguard Reputation: Protect the reputation and values of Take Back Your Mind UK through responsible behaviour.

4. Ensure Compliance: Volunteers must adhere to legal and ethical standards while representing the organisation.


Policy Guidelines


1. Respect and Inclusivity


   - Treat all individuals respectfully, regardless of background, beliefs, gender, race, age, sexual orientation, or other characteristics.

   - Avoid discriminatory, offensive, or disrespectful language, actions, or behaviours.


2. Professionalism


   - Conduct yourself in a manner that reflects positively on TBYMUK.

   - Maintain a positive attitude and exhibit enthusiasm for the organisation's mission.

   - Be prepared for assigned tasks and responsibilities.

   - Follow guidelines provided for specific events or activities.


3. Confidentiality


   - Handle confidential information responsibly and only share it with authorised individuals within the organisation.

   - Do not disclose sensitive information about clients, partners, fellow volunteers, or the organisation without authorisation.

   - Refer to the confidentiality policy.


4. Accountability


   - Fulfill commitments and responsibilities to the best of your ability.

   - If unable to fulfil a commitment, notify the appropriate person.


5. Communication


   - Maintain open and honest communication with fellow volunteers, staff, and the organisation's leadership.

   - Please feel free to ask for clarification if you are unsure about tasks or expectations.


6. Safety and Security


   - Follow safety guidelines and protocols provided by the organisation.

   - Please report any safety concerns, incidents, or accidents immediately to the right person.


7. Conflict Resolution


   - Address conflicts or disagreements respectfully and constructively.

   - Seek assistance from the organisation's leadership if needed to resolve conflicts.


8. Use of Resources


   - Use the organisation's resources, materials, and equipment responsibly and solely for authorised purposes.


Consequences for Non-Compliance


Volunteers who violate this Code of Conduct Policy may face the consequences, including:


- Verbal or written warning

- Suspension or termination of volunteer status

- Legal action if the violation constitutes a breach of law
